June 22, 2009

Sorry, we were behind on our blogging but internet access is either expensive ($7.50 euro per hour), not available or unreliable. Ronda is in Munich now catching up on the blog after she safely delivered Carrie to her German family on Friday.

We spent last evening in Killarney opting to skip dinner at the hotel so we could have a few "beverages" and dinner in Killarney. We had dinner at The Danny Mann Inn (very yummy). some people had traditional Fish and Chips - the fish was a big as your arm! We were up early the next morning to do some last minute shopping in Killarney and enjoyed a ride in Jaunting Cars. The horse drawn carts took us on a tour of the city and the area around Ross Castle. Next, onto Blarney Castle. Let me tell you, the stories you've heard about the drunks and the Blarney Stone could not possibly be true....there's no way a drunk could climb up all stairs to even get close to the stone. We had lunch in a cute pub outside the castle, Mackey's Bistro, then back on the bus (ugh.... Ronda has had enough of busses to last quite a while and we still have three days to go.) We arrived in Cork and had some free time to walk the city then on to our hotel for the evening. When we arrived at our hotel, we were in for quite a surprise. The Rochestown Park Hotel was very, very nice with large rooms and very friendly staff. More adventures tomorrow - be sure to check back with us! -- Ronda and Carrie
